Programmer’s Pick: Nowhere is the adage that truth is stranger than fiction more apt than the life of Nancy Zeitlin, the woman behind the Palestinian Equestrian Team. Ever the rebel, Nancy challenged familial and societal norms. At various points of her life, she was married to a Christian, an Orthodox Jew and finally, a Palestinian. As a single mother, Nancy became a leading figure in the Israeli equestrian world, but a chance encounter with horse-loving Palestinians prompted her to establish the first Palestinian equestrian team. Professionally and personally, Zeitlin continues to bridge religious and cultural divisions in Israeli society, through a love of horses.

Nancy Zeitlin’s personal story is interwoven with the story of Israel resulting in a rich film at so many different levels.” .–Terry Brackett ,Festival Director, Retired, Through Women’s Eyes International Film Festival

Watch Wonderful Q&A with the Mandel JCC of Cleveland
Jan 31, 2021 –“We were delighted to present UnReined as a virtual film program this year. The documentary includes so many interesting and layered dimensions and provides a springboard for meaningful dialogue about many aspects of Israel, relationships and sport. We had 200 people stream he film and 50 participate in a livestreamed Q&A with cast and crew. Many others watched the recorded Q&A. ”
